14 Gallon Help...

Have YOU been pulling the algae out? That is going to be the biggest help. The snails will never eat it all. You have to pull it out and then they can eat what is left, but just sticking some snails in and hoping they eat it all won't work.

I still use the carbon filter Oceanic supplied with the tank. When I do water changes, I rinse the filter off. How often should I replace the filter?

Is that aptasia in the 2nd pic??
I noticed those growing about a week ago. I did not know what they were until I just googled from your post. They are attached to a piece of rock that my pumping zenia is on. Are these things bad? My pumping zenia has not been doing anything for about a week. Does all this have anything to do with the high PH?

Post that pic in the ID section. Those look like aptasia's. I'm having that outbreak right now. You have to take care of it. They sting corals

Would that cause my pumping zenia not to open?? These are growing on the same little piece of rubble.

No more aptasia. I used the boiling water method and it worked very well. While I was in there blasting, some started to hide on me. After about one hour they popped back out and boiled some more water and blasted them too. Pretty cool way to rid the tank of them before they take over. I hope it will make my zenia happy now.
