Hi, I am going to get a 150 gallon for chritmas
and I was wandering what I need to set this big thing up. I used to have a 55 gallon fowlr and now I only have a 10 gallon nano reef. Once I set the 150 gallon up then my 10 gallon is going down. I really dont no what I need like protien skimmers, filters, refuge?, heater, please help me out. For about a year I think I will keep it fowlr and then I might turn it to reef.
Thanks.

If you buy a good tank, like an oceanic reef-ready, the holes will be already drilled for your sump, which is basically a tank to put your protien skimmer and heater and stuff in, that is connected to your main tank. A closed loop is a seperate pump that draws water from your tank and pumps it back in, creating more flow in your tank without adding powerheads that clutter up your view. You will need to have holes drilled for this. A full service LFS can do this for you or you can have them order your tank drilled. I have a lot of pictures from when I set up my reef at my website if you want to go look at it.
