Well the story I tell people about me getting into the hobby is quite funny. When I first started I had a 30 gallon bow front tank with only one fish, no skimmer, no light, as cheap and simple as I could go. About a month later I got bored and found a good deal on a 90 gallon but still didn’t think I wanted to go bigger yet, so I build a stand and put freshwater fish in it. At that time I had 4 tanks, 3 freshwater and one was saltwater. Well again I got bored so I turned the 90 into saltwater and sold the 30 bow. Again I wanted this to be a cheap hobby so only a few fish, simple lights, small skimmer, no corals. I was thinking I wanted to go with sharks and crazy aggressive fish with no corals. Well one of the fish that ate corals died and I figured out that the other fish that had potential to eat corals didn’t touch any of the mushrooms; I went and bought a CP and a couple small corals. I bought corals every week from that point on, but only frags. The most I would spend was 15 - 20 dollars on corals. Well by the third month in, I had a lot of corals and 8 fish.
