I have this set up and cycling now. Unfortunately I lost pretty much everything that was supposed to move over to it.
At this point I am still not ready to get anything at all in the fish category.
I do know that when I am ready I wil get another hippo.
I also loved my clown goby and may get another one of those.
After that I have no idea what I would like to have.
I also need to know what size of a cleaning crew I should get???
I really like bristle stars but how many would be enough with out over crowding???

What about an angel? I don't know if a 180 is big enough for a big angel but the dwarf angels are nice too IMO. I LOVE purple tangs too. Congrats on the 180, I'm jealous!

Not trying to bash or anything but bumping a thread up 4 times in an half hour is not going to get you answers any quicker. You have to consider the time of your post and that alot of people are working or perhaps some dont have an answer. You have to be patient. That being said, this site has lots of good cleaning crew packages. Use that as a guideline and add or subtract whatever you want or dont want. Or use the search button and get ideas from other members. Good luck

do a few google searches on species of fish you like pic your fav fish the one you have to have then work around compatebilty of that fish clean up crew will vary depending on what you keep brittle stars or any other type of serpants stars be forwarned these are oprintunistic hunters if a small fish hides wheer he is hiding they may become food.I lost a few new fish to mine.all stars and crabs have the ability to be this way just so you know what you can expect if you keep them.

the reason I kept bumping this is because last time I asked this question I never got a repsonse. Not one.
I understand folks are busy but since i bumped it to the top you see i got a response??
I have read and I have looked at the packages but honestly I would rather have folks tell me their experiance cause that gives me a better idea than anything else.

as fish goes:
get a hippo they are great fish (but get ich easy)
may be a Y tang or kole (I have all three! )
but be aware the purple tang can be a very bold fish. I would only go with 2 tangs in that size of tank. if you love tang you might be ok with three but that is pushing it.
go with a dwarf angel like a coral beauty or flame again I would only go with one to be safe.
deff. get a cleaner shrip or a couple neon gobies to help clean the tangs!!!!!
other than that I would make a list of the fish you like see if they would get along and post it here to see what people think.
hope this help out any

Thank you!!
I really love the Blue Hippos. They are my favorite out of all of the fish.
I had a yellow tang too and thought it was a pretty cool fish.
I thought that a Sail Fin would not go well in the tank but is another cool looking fish.
I had originally thought about doing an aggressive tank but have since decided against it. I like a lot of the fish that would get eaten!!!
Also didn't know that about the neon gobies!! That will be an addition I will make as well. I knew about the shrimp but not the gobies!

100 snails 100 blue hermits
that would be a good start for the money.

I was looking at those packages.
I couldn't tell if it was a good deal or.....sorry but I have bought my cleaning crew from different places a piece at a time.
The big boy package seemed to an awful lot of crabs and snails!! Wow.....can't imagine them all in there!!

Totally off subject here, but is your user name pronounced Kelly? If so, I love that spelling.

I also have a pretty big hermit crab in there right now cleaning the heck out of it. There is a fish at the pet store that I cannot seem to find any info on. It is really pretty. I will have to ask for an ID to see if it compatible for my tank.
I would love to have something that isn't "the common" thing to have in your tank.

I belive I saw a post you had about upgrading from an 80 to this bigger tank and was going to use the 80 for your sump. I thought you where leaving everthing in the 80 untill the 180 cycled. I also belive you had allready moved befor posting for help. That was allready to late I did not respond to that thread because I felt it was to late to help and you most have known by moving and desbing the sand bed that it would re cycle. Sorry for your lose. Hope you get this all up and going well just be patient and don't go to fast.
