180g Stand - My weekend project

Just thought I'd post some pics of my weekend project, the stand for my 180g tank.
The tank is on order, and should be shipped around the end of june, just in time for the closing on our new house.
I built the top and bottom frame out of 2x4s and used 2x4s to join the top and bottom together. I then used 2x6s for cripple studs on all sides except the right (I used 2x4s there to allow side access to the sump area). I wont be finishing the facing off until i move into the new house (July 1st), because I want to get the sump installed while I have open spaces to work in.

2x4 cripple studs on right side. This will probably be a third door to allow easy slide-out removal of sump/accessories.

also, all the screws used are Stainless steel, "Guaranteed against rust and corrosion"...We'll see.

Can you email me as to where you got your 180G tank from and how much it was? I'm also looking for a 180 gallon, but so far the price has been around $1000.

Thanks
Oh and a very nice job on the stand. I wish I could build one like that, but I"ll end up buying it.

Have you checked out Glass Cages there stock 180 is less then 1/2 of that, add overflows and pre-drilled holes you would still be saving half of that

EUPHORIA I e-mailed you the info.
PorcPuf I checked glass cages before I ordered this, 2 things that detered me from buying from them,
1) The weight of the glass tank was impossible to handle
2) With shipping charges, they were approx $100 less than what I paid for the 180 acrylic. The company I got the acrylic from offers FREE shipping on any Tenecor Acrylic tanks.
