1st Electric Bill after new lights

Just got the first electric bill after installing a coralife 3x250MH and 4x96 actinic, along with another 1x250MH and 2x96, 3 rio sump pumps and 6 1200maxijet's needlewheel 250g skimmer, and the electric bill only went up $68

yeah but were also talking almost 1600 watts in lights alone....

Thats not that bad at all.
I saw a tank set up that cost the owner an extra 350$ a month!
He runs 12 400W Mh and 4 1/4 horse pumps! Oh yeah its a 835 gallon tank.

DAMM!! $68!!! It costs me around $30 a month to run my tank. I pay a little over $100 a month for my electric and thats on a budget plan.

I was thinking it was going to go up a $100 bucks. So, my way of thinking is that I planned on it going up a hundred, so now I have like an extra $32 to play with. If my 1576w of lights cost me $86 that equals out to 18.32 cents per watt, so if I take the $32 that the bill didn't go up and divide by .1832 that means that I can go get another 174w of lighting

You did the math wrong. It's 4.31 cents per watt and you can add an "extra" 742 watts.

your right! wow, another 740w....my mind is just spinning with what I can do with that kinda lighting.... I see a 3x250MH 72" fixture in my future....
