Ok, so here are some new pics. I added a second canister filter. I had one sitting around. The water looks real clear too. I added a cup of sand from my reef tank and this morning I saw a couple of tiny snails on the glass.
Some time this week I'll be heading out to get some LR. I'm just waiting for my tax return to hit the bank. I'm also going to pick up some orange rics and a new 250 MH ballast for my reef tank.
So here are a few pics. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the plastic junk that I have in there. It came with the tank.

Its looking good. Are the acros live, then they arent really good, They have stinging cells. Live macros or fake plants or fake corals are better. The more colors you have will also help color up your horses.

I kind of like the fake "temple" thing...I could see some live rock sort of rubble-ing around it to give it a Lost Ark look.
Nice ride! (the chinook) and sorry to hear about deployment. My eldest daughter is a year into the AF (post ROTC) and I wonder sometimes about how it would be to have the gov suddenly decide to disrupt any plan she might have..lucky so far. She wanted Korea and got Lackland! Well, Mom feels lucky.
Will you also miss the tank cycling? And after 8 months, what a great stable home your horses will have to be introduced to!

Yes the Acros are live. So I guess that I wont add them. I just thought that they would make nice hitches.
Does anyone have a list of horse safe corals. I'm going to have a 150 w MH and 2 65w PC's on this tank, so I don't want to waist it. My LFS has super colored clams that I might add. They are about $135.00 each. I just don't want to have to add a calcium reactor to this tank. I was also thinking about adding a bunch of shrooms and Xenia.

Another update. I might not be going back to Iraq. I'm trying to fight it. My wife has a medical condition that might keep me from deploying.
Please pass your prayers along. Her name is Adele and we really need some prayer to help get her the medical attention she needs. If we were stationed in the states it would be a lot easier. Her right arm is partially paralyzed and we have 4 children and one on the way. I don't know how she will be able to care for them with out me. She is supposed to have surgery to fix the paralysis after my son is born. Then I'll be able to redeploy to Iraq and I have no problem with that. But I need to get my wife able to take care of my kids and herself first.

I'm excited. Tomorrow I'm going to get a few new pieces of LR and some rics.
I ordered my hanging kit for my light and it should be here by mid next week. I also ordered a few fake corals. I'm still going to put live corals in it but I figured that I would keep my Acros in my reef tank and just put in a few shrooms and some kenya trees. I have about 8 in my reef tank and I want to take a few out because their blocking all the light to my lower corals.
I'm also going to put a few pieces of GSP in there. I think that it will look really cool on the center temple I have in there.

Yeah, SWF reset the forum because of spam. I'll re-post some of the pictures for ya'll.

It's not working so I'm going to have to upload them to my photobucket then post them. I'll have to do it tonight. It's time to get ready to go on the "super circle". That is where I go to 3 different SWF stores near my house. It takes about an hour.
I'll see ya later!

Hi I am short and I clean my tank sides using magnents. One side stays inside the tank and has a rough texture, and the other has a velvet texture and acts like a handle. It floats if they get seperated. But they stay in the tank all the time and just swpe it over the glass to keep it clean. They work great!!

Ok I'm going to try to repost my pics. I don't understand why they all dissapeared after SWF reset the forum.
I got some rocks yesterday and I set my HM on top of my tank only for pics. My hanging kit will be here some time this week.

Looking good. I love the temple. Some macros would look great around them.
Keep up the good work

Here are a few updated pics with only a few corals that I added. I'm going today to try and get a few pieces of rubble to put around the temple and I'm sure that I'm going to be rearranging it when I get more stuff in it.

well, I have to say that this is the strangest tank that I've ever set up. Its been up for about 2 weeks and it never cycled. I used live sand and I also added a liquid bacteria that was supposed to reduce nitrates. I put a shrimp in there and it's gone. It's completely dissolved and the ammonia or the nitrites ever spiked. I thought about a few days ago I saw a slight color change in my test but the next day it was back to normal.
I'm still going to wait a few weeks till I add my horses, but I'm still going to add more coral and hopefully some macro.
