1st water change question, help please!!

Hello there!!!
Hey, I just did a search on filter media & still didnt find what I was looking for, so I was hoping that some of you experts out there could help.
My 55 just finished its cycle, all readings - 0, (trates 15) for 3 days now so I'm preparing for my first water change and am confused about the filter media.
Im running a Skilter 400 with 2 bio matrix carbon/poly cartridges w/sponge in between the two.
Question is, do I replace the carbon sides and just rinse the filters or do I replace the whole cartridge one - a time whille rinsing the other two? etc.etc.
Please help, sure am anxious to do water change and get started.

Do you have any live rock??
Do you have any significant surface area, such as substrate etc...
If so then you can simply replace the whole thing. If you do not or your not sure if what you have is enough, then replace the carbon and simply rinse the filter in saltwater!! Do not rinse it in fresh water or you will defeat your purpose.
