Thanks,I like it, I didnt have room in my BR for a full reef so I went mini.
I have added another 7watts of PC lighitng to it now. and am getting ready to put some zoas in it. I still need to modify the guts of the hood so the lighting evens out better. I'm also kickign around the Idea of a 5g bucket sump. just need to figure out how to build the over flow so it doesnt chew up valuable space.

Your stand and canopy are so adorable! I love it!
And...Isn't it wonderful when a 50% water change can be done in minutes too!
My office nano is 3 gallons. I have about 12 corals in there now with no skimmer. I was going to buy the Current USA AFission Nano Skimmer (only 2"x8.5" and $25) but decided to wait see how it goes with it. Its been up for 3 months with no problems so far. I do a 30% change every few weeks. Good Luck with your project. Here's a pic of mine.

That's a cool little Pico. How well does the cardinal fish do in there?

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the compliments.
I had two PJ's in there for about two months and they did fine, but I moved them into a bigger tank.
Now I have a peppermint shrimp and a yellow watchman goby. If you look at the center of the pic, you'll see an oyster shell. The two of them hang out and sleep together in the shell. So cute!
Reefkprz, I really do love your stand and canopy. I think I might try to make a set my nano. The woodwork makes it look so much more impressive.
I stole all of the corals frags from my home reef to fill my office reef. After only a few months, the xenia and greenstars have grown so fast that I've had to take pieces back home to keep this tank managed. How cool is that?

OK here are some updated pictures not everything is open yet because the lights just came on. you can see how one side is brighter than the other I need to revamp the hood guts to change this.

what about getting a piece of acrylic cut and siliconing it to the corner, something like the pic below. Then you could just run some tubing down into the corner space and up over the top of the tank and siphon down to your fuge. You could use clear tubing for your return, too, and clip it to the back edge of the tank. You could even split the return and have 2 directional flows to eliminate dead spots. I've been wanting to do this exact thing for a couple weeks. I'd appreciate any criticisms, because I plan to do this very thing in the coming weeks.

that tank is no longer operational. Sorry. It was too much work for not enough volume. I also did not like how weak the lighting was, the only things that really did good in there were mushrooms. maybe some day I'll set it up again. I still have everything for it. mayeb once I get my coral shop underway I'll set it on the counter. but that a ways down the road yet.
