2 maroon clowns fighting, what to do?

I bought 2 maroon clowns today, because my LFS said they will push and stuff for 2 days then everything will be fine. I came home tonight and the smaller one had tons of bites out of him and stuff, the other one was perfecty fine. I can sit and watch him chase him all over, jumping out of the water. Obviously I dont think they are going to be getting along, the one is basically fins are in shreds. Any ideas what to do? I dont want him dead..

i got a maroon clown today also. He is about 1 1/2in and the other is about 3in. The smaller maroons fins are torn up also. Try to wait a couple of days and if they dont seem to get along, take one back to get something else. It would be great if they got along!! What else did the lfs say?

Sorry to say, maroons are the most aggressive clowns, and they don't like each other. My suggestion, take it back before it is too late.

yeah I wanted percs but for 3 weeks there have been 0 :(
I might call them up and see what they can do...

how big are thay ? it sounds like one is morfing over to female try a tank divider or a strawberry basket if its the smallest one getting picked on (it can hide in their and come out when it feels safe)

there both about the same size.. 1.5inches is a good estimate

Buying 2 same sized clowns is never a good idea. They are currently the same --- and fighting because of it... like clown123 said, they are deciding who gets to be the girl.

How long does it take them to decide who is a girl? I have one maroon(3in) and other (1 1/2). The 1 1/2in is a gold stripe and the other one is a regular maroon(wild).

the largest will morf over to female maroons can reach a size of 5/6 inchs and the male about half that size
