Yeah ditto what bang said. I'd personlly like to see it even a little bigger but a 10g is do-able. I would not try it in a 5g.

Bang, how come u say its fine for him to keep 2 clowns in a 10g but in another thread u said it would be overkill in my 20g??

What is your definition of overkill? Perhaps it's different than mine.
My definition:
Overkill = Killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer.

i was told that overkill= more than enough
also, what does the Killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer.
mean? confusing me how u can relate it to the clown fish thing.

oh. thanks  will i be able to fit a LMB in there too? i also love the coloration on the mandarin goby but i know they need pods and im not sure if i can provide good nutrition for him so hes on my "wish list" :)

A LMB would starve in a 20 IMO. One of the Sharks did a Fish of the Week article about LMBs. Try a search, it was very informative.

hmm. i was looking at firefish goby and they look vibrant. not too exspensive to. would he be a good candidate for my tank?

It could work if you cover the tank.
Once your Clowns pair up they will chase the Firefish once in a while. Firefish tend to go carpet surfing when they're chased. They certainly are not bottom dwellers though.

oh darn, i have a pic i drew up of my tank, kinda sloppy but i dont know how to post it. it will have lots of openings so no fire fish. what about a yellow watchman goby

If it's posssible to run your tank w/ an open top you could get a piece of egg crate cut to the size of the tank w/ little holes for extra equipment. That should help prevent carpet surfing.
