I AM LOOKING TO SET UP A 400GAL FOWLR (8FTLONG X 36"DEEP X 30"TALL) TANK IN THE NEAR FUTURE IN A RECENTLY FINISHED BASEMENT. I KNOW MOST PEOPLE WITH A TANK THAT SIZE USUALLY HAVE A MONSTEROUSLY TALL PROTEIN SKIMMER (4-6FT TALL). I DO NOT HAVE A PLACE TO HIDE THE PROTEIN SKIMMER AND THAT SIZE WON'T FIT UNDER THE STAND. SO MY ? IS CAN I DIVIDE THE PROTEIN SKIMMER PORTION OF THE SUMP AND PUT MAYBE 2 ASM G-4'S. I DON'T THINK MANY PEOPLE GO THIS ROUTE BUT DO YOU THINK IT WILL WORK? THEY ARE RATED FOR 350G, BUT MANY RECOMMEND 200G EACH AND THEY ARE ONLY 24" TALL. :notsure:
ANY COMMENTS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :help:

I'm going to try to answer this most sumps have a setup on the way the water will flow through. For example the drain goes down on mine hits the skimmer and the heater then goes through some baffles goes to my uv and return pump and my refuge is all the way on the other side. I think if they are both spaced apart one will be doing more work then the other unless they are both drawing water from the same area and you have the room to do that underneath then try it if money doesn't matter by both try running one for a while and keep the other brand new and if your water is good use just one if you need the other hook it up.

I think you would be ok. Make sure the skimmed water goes to next section/chamber usually the return.
