I dont post very often, but i have a 265 reef, I have 6 ocellaris clowns living in the same tank. They are second generations, that I have breed in the past. I have one pair that has been laying eggs for almost two years now. This past month I noticed a second set of eggs. just thought that I would share that with everone

WOW !! 265G tank ?!?! Now that I'd love to see a pic of. That's definitely plenty of room for multiple clowns ! Good to hear a success story like yours.

like i said these are second generation, you know here in kentucky thats ok. When they are about 1.5 years old, Thats when they pair up and start to get busy.

i have a pair that's about 2yrs and they've paired up, but no boom-boom yet. is there anything i need to do? i don't have an anemone for them, but they've taken to a leather, do they need an anemone or not? or is it just a wait and see thing?

1.5 years is a good average. The males seem to be ready much earlier than the females
IME, if conditions are right, the clowns will eventually spawn on their own, but a few things that may entice them to spawn sooner are;
Saturation feedings (feeding 2 -3 times a day and feed until the pair no longer eats)
feeding zooplankton (hatching baby brine and feeding heavily to the tank)
increased temp to 80+
