2 year maintenence?

I'm comming up on my 2 year mark with my tank. I know I replaced my lights last year, but was wondering if I need to replace anything else. I was thinking maybe my sponge. I rinse it out once a week when I do a water change. It's getting knida crawly with living critters, not sure if I should reoplace it?
Any help or advise would be great!!

if you have been using the same sponge for 2 years, it is about 18 months past needing replace....lol

I change mine every 6-8 weeks and rinse it every 2 -3 days

I only change my sponge when rinsein dos not work anymore.

I do too! no need in replacing a sponge that works. What really needs replacing is the charcoal or activated carbon.

Oh man. I feel guilty for my tank now. I need to clean my sponge asap. Its been like 3 weeks since I washed it out last.
