I am planning on doing a 20g long frag tank with all sorts of corals in it and was wondering how i set it up? I have a saltwater tank already and didnt know if a frag tank would be different or not. i am also looking lights and was wondering how much wattage i should get. i would like to keep a clam or to plus a bunch!!! of corals in it. i was thinking about a 175w metal halide lamp but didnt know if that would be to much wattage and might make the tank to hot. i would like all input please. oh and i was planning on setting it up where i have the tank, and then a 10g fuge right next to it or under it as my filter.

It depends on the corals you want. If you are doing SPS then I'd get a Koralia 3. They have a lot of flow but it is spread over a large area. Or two Koralia 2s, one on each side.
As for the lighting, 175 MH is plenty. I'd keep it like 6" or higher from the tank if you can. Or just get a fan to blow across the surface of the water.

Just keep the MH a good bit over the surface of the water and maybe place a fan to blow under it. Just make sure you dont shock your frags if they are coming from a tank with less lighting then this....and keep softies over to the side with less light

The reason I suggested an Actinic is to see the colors of your frags. If the tank is purely for growing out the frags, then ignore me.
You can help with the ease from one light source to another by placing the frags at different heights in the tank. If coming from lower lighting, you'll put them on the bottom of the tank and then slowly move them up.

i have been thinking about my sump lately and was wondering if anyone has pics of there 10 gallon sump that they could show. I also have a few questions about it: Should i drill my 20g and make an overflow box in it? if i do i was going to use the durso method, can someone explain how this works and how the water enters to tube to go down to the sump? What pvc piping and fittings do i need to make this sump work? how should i lay out my sump: i was going to do a fuge area and a skimmer area. what pump should i use to return water to the main tank? all info appreciated
