20 Turbo/Astrea Snail arrived yesterday, nothing!!

20 of theses snail arrived yesterday morning from this site and they have not moved since. How long does it take for them to start doing there job?

Sometimes it takes them a while to move. Make sure the turbo's are upright since they can't turn themselves over.

if the shell is empty they arent going to move either.
just kidding. i have 4 turbos that will sit for days at a time in the same spot and then move between some rocks where i wont see them for a week and all of a sudden they're baaaaack.

How did you acclimate them?

What is your salinity level?, they would do best at full strength salintiy of 35ppm or 1.025 SG.

I acclimated them as instructed by SWF.com. My SG is at 1.024

Temp? Do you have any other inverts?

Temp is at 77
These would be the first in a newly cycled tank.

No copper ever used, right? Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels are down right?

Hmmm...are you positive the tank was cycled? What are your current readings for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate? If you properly acclamated them and if the water chemistry is accurate and stable they should be fine....sometimes it does take a few days for them to become active...but I can assure you I have added turbos from here on numerous occassions with no problems.

Watch if they move over night...my turbos only move during the night, and hide in their shells in the same spot all day (probly wait until my puffer goes to sleep to move)

All levels are at 0ppms I got home from work went to pick them up and give a good sniff, I discovered that they as a group has attached themselfs to each other. Anyways, thank you all for you support threads. Everything seems to be fine....for now.
