Ok....I have absolutely no idea what to do about my lighting......I have just set up my 75g and want to turn it into a reef tank...I have a 55watt power compact that I can put on it.....I have 200 dollars....What is the maximum amount of lighting I can get for that price....I want to keep mushrooms, star polyps, colts, leathers, open brains, xenias, frogspaws, bubble corals......Thanks for your help

Keep searching on E-Bay for a used IceCap 660.
200 is pretty tight for reef lighting. Just 4 bulbs can run you over 150

No, your electric bill will not skyrocket if the ballast you get is electronic. If you get a magnetic ballast it will go up slightly more, but you will also need to replace your bulbs more often.

That is a great deal. I have an old hood. It is 9w x 4h. Would I be able to use the 36inch on a 40 gallon. Or would I need to build a new canopy
