Do you mean 1/2 of the tank is bare (I call beach)? If so that should be ok.
I can not answer about the shark though...What kind of shark is it? I am sure that will make a difference. Also how big is the shark?
i have a horn shark and it is about 14 inches long . theplace that i ordered my shark from keeps sharks and rays in the same tank . but my shark lays on all the fish i have in my tank includin a lion. ijust dont want him to get stung
If they are of comparable size then the shark and ray will generally do fine together. The smallest rays are cortez, calis, yellows and blue spots (though these can be very delicate).
What are the dimensions of your 200 gallon tank? That shark will get to 3.5 ft or so. That by itself may be too large for your tank, without considering a ray that's 18" in diameter. JMO.
the tank is i think 7 1/2 feet long by 2 feet tall and 2 feet deep, I plan to up grade to a much larger tank in the next few years so i will be able to accomidate for the growth of the shark and whatever else i find to put in there. Now out of the above mentioned rays which are the most hardy?
Thanks,
Alex
