Well after humin and hawin, and reading as much as my sleep regiment would allow, I made the wallet draining trip to the LFS and came home with a 20G instead of the 15G I was askin ya-al about.I spent a very fun and exciting day today getting it all set-up. I know its just a tank full of rock right now but like I said I'm really psyched so...

Here's the scoop. AC 70 filter with sponge & 2 bio-max, AC 50 PH, Jager 100w heater, Hagen "glo" 2x24w T5 HO lighting,20 lbs LR, 10lbs agronite sand. The pic looks more blue than it actually is.

thanks Reefgirl. Do you all think that I have to much current in there? The filter pushes 300 gph & the PH pushes 270 gph. I have them both turned all the way down at the moment. :notsure:

Your heater shouldn't be submerged. Did you see the label that says "Do not submerge beyond this point"? Love the rockwork, looks nice!

The line on the heater is there for standards purposes.I have had Jeager heaters fully submerged in my FW tanks for years.

Thanks Dave. Nope got it at a nice little LFS here In Calgary. Should I syphon some of it out? Still waitin on some advice on my water movement question :help: please

Fishy, on the water flow it partially depends on what you're planning on putting in the tank? also, you want to make sure that there is current/flow in all areas of the tank (no dead spots).
Welcome to hobby!!! looking forward to more pics, the rockwork looks great!

Was thinkin threeish small fish, rics, zoas, mush, leathers. Not sure my lighting is adequate for the more light thirsty corals. Sugestions would be great
Thanks for the comp, have been keeping FW tanks(5 now) for about 18 years so have a little practice aquascaping

Day six now and the algea bloom has slowed a bit and noticed a little bug when I put the lights on.It is about 1/4" long maybe an 1/8"wide little antenea and looked like it had wings kinda. Oh yeah kinda a cream color. He was sittin on my filter intake but quickly hid. Any ideas what it might be? Also I've had no movement in my water parameters NO3 is 0 NO2 is 0 and NH3 is 0, SG is .023 and temp is 75. My LFS dude said I might not get a spike cause the LR I bought was in his system for a while. Was wonderin if I could start with a few CUC or should I wait another week or so?
