I am taking mine slowly.
I try to add at least something every two to three weeks.

Zoo's,
Small Kenya Tree
Yellow Polps (just added)
A Green Bubble Tip Anemone. (I was talked into it)
As far as fish:
Two Percs Clowns
Yellow Clown Goby
Inverts:

No, infact less. Before, my tank use to be between 80 - 82 degrees and now stays between 79.5 - 81 degress. I took my top off (2 minute job). I cut a sheet of egg crate to fit insde the top of the tank. (This allows fish not to jump out, and only took 10 min.)
How this works is the open top allows for better gas exchange (which supplies more oxygen in the water) and allows heat to escape. I add cup or two of water to my tank everyday.
Please let me know if you have anymore questions

I paid $209 for it and I bought it from my LFS. It was worth it to me because I now dont have to worry about light and can now build my reef how I want it.

And it looks great

I started out for 2 hours a day for 2 days and did 3 hours a day for 2 days and so forth until I got to 10 hours. It worked out great. No algae growth and my corals never looked better and I did not bleach the coraline algae that I have.
