20k bulbs prevent algae growth?

phoenix makes a 150 watt 20k de bulb I know because I have one. I think they mak a 250 watt mogul 20k also.

not having to do with spectrums of lighting. I put some cyano in a bucket of water and clapped a lid on it to see if it would grow in almost no light, it nearly doubled in size in 24hours of almost no light. low light is innefective in batteling cyano IMO.

what your seeing isnt the bacteria receeding its the byproducts getting washed away while the cyano is dormant in the dark. it does photosynthesize when it stops photosynthesizing it gives the natural currents in your tank time to was away the byproducts. you dont see the cyano itself you see the byproducts (the red slime).

I would love a link to those bulbs. I can't find them anywhere. I'll PM my e-mail to ya.

Thanks for the e-mail...but that's 14K Phoenix and 20K Radium....Is it the same company or something? I still can't find a Phoenix 20K DE or any Phoenix single end.
If Phoenix even made a SE 14K, I would replace my $110 250W SE Aquaconnects in a heartbeat.....
