210 gal update

well after giving this alot of thought, i figured out what i was going to do for my 210 gal ill be setting up.. my origional plan was for 2 closed loops, and my return from my sump.. well i scratched that idea cuz i want to go barebottom. so i ordered 4 tunze 6080 and the controler that has the 29 day moonphase. this tank is slowly coming together. i also have a frind making me a reeflife skimmer.. well a knock off anyway. its going to be 12" in diameter and 36" tall powered by 2 pumps... gunna pull out some major goo with that sucker.. the lights are at home, i went with 3 250w de xm 20's with 2 110w vho 03 actinics.
i will be having a custom sump built by a localk reefer who does awsome acrylic work. it will be appox 103 gallons, 60x20x20. the return will be a iwaki... im leaning twards the 70 on that one...
still havent figured out what ca reactor ill be using, prolkly a custome made one as well.. anyway happy reefing

Those plans sound awesome; your skimmer sounds like it's going to be a beast!
You will really appreciate having four Tunzes on a multicontroller; the swelling feature would be fun with four pumps! But I hope you meant to type 6000 or 6100 as the model number you ordered, as those are the only controllable Streams (well, the 6200 is as well, but you'd have over 20,000gph with four of those in your tank).
Good call on the Iwaki. It's got a strong pressure rating, so you can 'T' off of the return line for future tank gear. In fact, I've got two 70's right now waiting to go on my upcoming tank: one for the skimmer and the Panworld equivalent to be used for the return and T'd for refugium flow, Ca reactor, and possibly a surge bucket.
For Ca reactors, take a look at Barr Aquatic. They make a very well designed and easy to maintain reactor; it's cheap too, considering all the features. If budget is more of a concern, Reeftek makes a nice reactor based on the Geo design, except it holds more media and is less expensive.
This sounds like one heck of a plan; I look forward to reading about this project's progess, and seeing some pics along the way!!!

rob yeah i meant the 6100's sry for the cunfusion... im also gunna look into that reactor, this is slowly comin together, im trying to be patient and take itreally slow, when i first got the tank i wanted it to be a 4 month progect, im sittin at 1 month now, and im starting to crack cuz i want it up and runnin, im almost finished with the stand and ill take some pics of that once it is finished. it will consisit of a tubular steel frame 2" thick outlined with a wood frame consisitng of 4x4 studs in the corners and along the fron the back will be 2x4s... this stand could hold a mack truck and that is what i wanted... thanks for all the comments

iwaki 70 is a great pump i am going to have one going agains about 19' head i still think it will give 900gph
i like korallin calcium reactors alot...not to friendly for ppl that don't check all ther pumps and test for stuff every week though (i am getting a 3002 for my 180...i would suggest a bigger one for your tank and also a DIY second chamber for any tank over 200)........also a ph controller is a great thing to have....can save you from losing all you live stock
sounds like your going to get some killer color with the lights you have...reef opptix III and PFO have good reflectors if you don't have them yet
i have 2 of the 6100's with that controller your getting..it is one of my best purchases....its a good idea to go bare bottom to...i have like a 1/2" of sand and it gets to be a little bit of a dust storm sometimes...but i love the look of sand

are you going to run Phosban or Zeovite (sp.) i think i am going to run a pb reactor half carbon half phosban
