I was just going to start Randy's dyi 2 part untill I recently read a thread in the chemestry section on --. Aparantly Dow recently started adding bromide or bromine (cant remember which) to their flake
....Not good for reef tanks....I still searching for some replacement.....Any suggestions

I have seen that too, but from what I've read, it doesn't sound like anyone knows if there is really a problem. Just try and stock up on the old stuff while you can.

i'm using the homemade 2 part as well. however, for hte calcium, i just ordered it from their site, and i got the food grade calcium chloride. for alk, baking soda, cooked @ 400 for 1 hr to make soda ash. and epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). everything works great. i just need my new tank to stabilize now.....
james - as beautiful as ever
