hey .357! i was up in your neck of the woods from socal about 3 years ago on the big fire complex. and being a non drinker, i almost crossed over the .08 bac limit that dmv imposes by just sniffing all the night time fumes as we were driving by the wineries!

Chainsaw, that must have been in about Oct. I think that the smell you are talking about is all the left overs. Our garbage company here goes around to all of the wineries and picks up their pumice (grape seeds and skins after being fermented) for $$ and then stores them. Later in the year they then sell them back to the winery as fertilizer. What a deal. You pay to have it taken away and then you pay to get it back.
