The new radioactives, the orange ones, and a couple of the ones on frags I got from a LFS....but I try to get there right as their new shipments come it, so I get first choice. The other, more bright ones, I've gotten online. PM me if you can, and I'll forward you the link. I got three of them from a guy I was refered to on here through a PM as well. I forget to send me his email though. The reds, deep oranges with green shirts (on the big frag disk), the yellows, and one of the green ones on the frags where from him

DC,
I have a 24g Nano Cube that I started up the First week in April. I have a jaeger 75w in there that is fine. However when the outside temp rises up you need to have a plan. I don't know where you live in CA but I would recommend running lights at night or heater off when you run your lights. You can do most things beside sps, clams, and anemones with stock lights. If you want to upgrade later there are T5s and MH for that tank or others like it. I really like my tank and sometimes people sell them for cheap on craigs so shop around. Let me know if you have any questions. If i can't answer them I know someone who can. Good luck with your decision.

dankbardy 31,
I live in the Orange County area...I plan on leaving the lights on around 10-12 hours everyday would that be ok with the temperature in the tank? What heater do you recommend?

oh ok...do the lights affect your temperature?
Hi dc! U will luv your 24! I am cycling mine now and here's what I did. (Currentl have a 12 nano too some alot of LR will transfer over soon).
Heater
-50W-set at 78 degrees and with lighting (stock) 9 hours a day, has not fluctuated.
Stock return pump
but added a K Nano (bottom middle, set low) and a Power Sweep
powerhead-attached to the glass under the water return. It's really neat, it pushes the water 180 degrees back and forth and takes care of the bottom and the middle of the tank.
Filtration
; 1st chamber Chemi Pure Elite and a phosphorous pad, 2nd chamber Purigen and sponge and lat chamber-heater and return pump. My tank turns over about 30X and hour.
U have a good bit of height with this tank, so place your corals in the middle if you feel that the lighting is not sufficient, move em around to make them happy. I also have a anenome in my 12 (with stock lighting, which will go into the 24) and it is thriving-split 3x already in 4 months, and my clowns (saddlebacks) luv it. Purchase good live sand and live rock and you should be good to go in about 3-4 weeks. Nass snails, no hermits, and a few good snails for CUC-and a shrimpy or 2 if U like them. Ths is just my opinion and has worked well for me in the past-no losses to date! And of course-Instant Ocean...really like that salt! Oh and I use Kent Marine A & B for feeding my corals (zoas, palys, xenia)

thanks jemshores, I will be using Chaeto in my filtration, how many snails do you think will do the job? I do plan on getting 2 cleaner shrimps since they are really cool(had 1 in my old 20 gallon that would always clean my hand when I was cleaning the tank)

It would depend on your sandbed. Probably 20 nass will take care of things nicely. They are the best little cleaners! Mine multiplied and some live in the filtration system now. Maybe a few turbos later, after tank matures enough to give them something to munch on. Shrimpies are opportunistic eaters so adding them after your snails I think would be OK. Good luck-this is a fun tank to build!

well if I get a blenny it will be the lawnmower blenny since its my favorite fish...I was just wondering if I could get a scooter blenny too since it looks cool but if they are territorial then the lawnmower will be the fish i get...so far I have plans for a clownfish, firefish, and a lawnmower blenny is that max for fish?

Sorry it took a while to respond but if you want a cheap good heater, try the jebo 50w or 75w. They are fully submersible which is good so you can have it down in chamber 3. I have had mine for a while and it works great. Way more accurate than my Jaegers which can't even be submerged and were way more expensive. Do what the other guys said with the chambers. Chemipure elite, chaeto, etc. Koralia 1's are good for flow and if you want to upgrade the return pump its easy and cheap. Seeding this tank with parts of your old one will speed up the cycling which will be nice. Get a bunch of snails after you have cycled and if you see a lot of diatoms keep an eye on your phosphate levels. Have fun!
