24 Gallon Tank

do some research. real estate in your tank is at a premium. i would only choose a coral that's not very invasive, and is something i'm absolutely in love with for a 28 gallon tank.
go to the coral section on this website. browse the pics and read the info. that should help you narrow it down.

Thanks for the quick replies!!
I think I am going to my LFS on Thursday when they get their shipment in.
What kind of zoas are the brightest and most appealing?
Just wondering. I already have a peppermint shrimp, so if I do get that cleaner shrimp, should I trade my peppermint in, or is it ok for them to be in the same tank and if so, would I be able to put any more shrimp in?
I've seen lots of threads with Coral Banded Shrimp. What do they do and would they be good for my tank? Thanks in advance!

i have peppermint shrimp aswell as cleaner and fire shrimp..they all get along..they pick up the left over scraps the fish leaves behind..and my cleaner and fire shrimp have a spot set up where my fish come and get cleaned..i never had a coral banded shrimp so i couln't tell u anything about them..

Thanks Aquaguy I will have to check out that fire shrimp.
He would probably look really cool in my tank!
What kind of fish do you have in your tank?

i have the following in my 90g..
2 true percs clowns
1 foxface (onespot)
1 bicolor angel
1 randalls goby paired with tiger pistol shrimp..
i might get a mandarin goby soon but still thinkin about it..

Thanks!! I will be sure to check out that nano section.
And I LOVE mandarin gobies and Foxfaces.
My dad has always wanted a Foxface!
And I am dying for that mandarin goby!!

I have one quick question.
Would it be ok for me to put a pink and green sea cucumber in my 24g?
Also, I think I am going to trade my yellow clownfish in to my LFS to get a sixline wrasse.
I have been looking at the nano threads on here and lots of people have them in their nanos.
Would this be a good idea?

Thanks for that good advice Mr. X.
Glad I didn't go that route.
Is there any particular reason why the cucumber would be bad for my tank?
And also, would the sixline still be ok?
What size is your tank Mr. X?
Just wondering.
HAHA

if they die they will release toxins. enough to nuke the whole tank to death.
a six line would be ok in a 24.
my main tank is a 195. i also have a 40 and a 30.

Thanks for explaining Mr. X.
And WOW
you must have a lot of time and money to spare!!
What kind of fish do you have in your 30g?
And thanks for the advice about the sixline wrasse too!

um...na. no money to spare. the fish in the 30 breeder? a single, small algae blenny.

I don't believe I've ever seen one of those.
Mr. X could you post some pics of your tanks.
I would really like to see what an experienced reefer's tank looks like. AND ANY OF YOU OTHER REEFERS PLEASE POST SHOTS OF YOUR TANK!!!
Thanks in advance.

Holy moses you have enough stuff there for a grow operation.....LOL
As for the pictures, try a few different things, if you have MH on that tank maybe shut off all the other ones and just keep the MH on.
Another thing that I do is instead of a head on shot I will often take a picture from standing up pointing down on the tank so its on a bit of an angle. No over the water though but still through the glass.
If you are using a flash try turning that off, it often makes the corals look washed out.
Just some suggestions.

I tried to touch it up a bit... got rid of some of the blue washout but can't really make it much clearer than this:

this camera i have is pretty old. it's acts up from time to time, and recently, no matter what i do it gives me problems. a new digital slr is on the horizon, but i've been putting the bulk of my money into another project lately, and i'm afraid the camera has been pushed down the list some.
