I have a custom light fixture for my 29/30 tall tank. THe lighting is 6 - 22" 24W T5 bulbs (2 life, 2 power, 2 marine) THe setup rests right on top of the tank.
I hate the dimensions of my tank because its too skinny and tall, I Cant do much in the way of aquascape or coral propagation because I get dead spots from building the rock high.
I may be buying a 40 breeder with stand for 70 bucks. I want to use the breeder for my reef since Ill have much more space to work with.
I dont want to buy new lights so can I just rig up my 24in lights to sit on top of the 36in tank and concentrate my corals in the center? Or would that just look gay and ghetto?

but how does it look with the light concentrated in the middle? And how does it affect your corals?

now that i think about it, It might be good enough to spread corals everywhere because as my tank is right now, my corals are roughly 3 feet from the light because of the custom setup and the tall tank. A breeder tank is not nearly as tall so the light will vertically be much closer to the coral.
anyone got pics of how their set up looks.
