You will need approximately 375.833333333333 pounds of sand
to achieve a 4 inch depth in a 82 x 22 inch tank
assuming the sand weighs 90 pounds per cubic foot.

That will be enoug due to the fact you need to mix it with some live sand to get it started.
Edit: What I meant by that, was that it was enough SD. The rest I would add live sand. Just my suggestion...

Jester, any good news from Chris L? Did you receive your southdown yet? I am still waiting for the third bag. I hope it comes this week.

Rockster, recieved 2 yesterday and the third today. I feel like a donkey about that topic I had. Better communication could have avoided it, but all is well now.

so about 400 pounds of southdown, then how many pounds of live sand on top of it(also i might not be cycling my tank with live rock).
