Can you use a 250W MH bulb with a 400W ballast. A friend has a 400W MH pendant I can get for next to nothing, or nothing. I'm setting up a 75. My plan was two 250W MH, but can I get away with 1 400W MH and 130W PC Act?
I asked a similar question not too long ago and was told that the ballast and bulbs had to match on wattage, if the ballast is larger it'll blow the bulb.
