I am sure you could, I prefer the Biocube stands though. They are fairly nice pieces for how much they cost.

thrift stores or craigslist. try and find an old nightstand... that would hold it. Do you have an ikea close to you? They have super cheap furniture and its awesome.

Why would you want to put a tank that will end up with a lot of money invested in it, on a cheapo nightstand? To each their own though.

I dont think it has anything to do with what its on, as oppose to whats in it. also, correct me if im wrong, but he said he didnt care what the stand looked like. I was just trying to be helpful.
and if you dont have any ikea furniture, then you dont know the quality of it. its good furniture, for a good price. jmo (which Im sure everyone is entitled to)

GRR!
I just bought a 14g biocube stand at a local store today. The thing is nice once put together... but the process to get it there is hardly worth it!!
The instructions are vague at best. It was very BROAD in the steps given, and left out key points in each step. Took me nearly an hour to put together. After I was finished I figured out that I had left out two large important screws... they weren't even mentioned in any of the steps. I read back over it and was amazed.

This is all coming from someone who has built a grandfather clock from scratch oak wood. Maybe I was just having an off day? IDK, but I was so frustrated I wanted to call up the place and give um hell. "You're paying for the oceanic name" said the store keeper when I asked the price. Well it certainly felt like I bought a piece of junk.
Don't get me wrong, it's amazing after put together.. but yeah, I had to rant about it somewhere.
