2nd time setting up a saltwater tank..help

By curing do you mean mixing outside of tank? If so, yes I did. I didn't add any more water because of the mere fact I just wanted to let it cycle some more to see if it would go down. Right off the top of my head I can't remember what my salt reading is because I'm @ work but as soon as I get home I will let you know.
All I can tell you now is that it went from one extreme to the other.

I have the refractometer and will continue to test and just let it settle down. Will let you know tonight how it is.

don't mean to butt in here... BUT
I wasn't aware that hydrometers were calibrated at 78*. My tank is usually at about about 80*. Does that mean my reading is lower or higher than actual?
