Nice parenting skills on this one...
When Beaumont, Texas police arrived at the store, they found a four-year-old boy playing with toys. They believe they little guy unlocked the door of his home about 3:00 a.m. Monday and crossed a seven lane highway to get there.
Surveillance video shows the four-year-old trying to open the front doors. The second one was unlocked, so he went inside. That triggered the silent alarm.

vid of it is on the link below..

There are are so many jokes to be made here...
But come on I could see something like this happening. You don't lock your kid in his room while he is asleep. And if you aren't a light sleeper then you aren't gonna hear em. There is some boundaries they should have taught him. Only play in the yard, don't go outside the house without mommy and daddy. But at the night of the "breakin" if the kid is gonna do it I could see it happening.
The real question is who in their right mind didn't lock the door to the store. (someone is getting fired a week before christmas)

he even took in their mail for them...
Now see that's good parenting. Go play with the neighbors dog, take in their mail. Eat some cookies that were likely going to go stale. How funny would that have been on video?

Am I the only one here who thinks that that door being unlocked is some sort of blessing in disguise?? A 7 lane highway!! I'm glad the kid stayed in the store, it coulda potentially saved his life.
Parents need an alarm on their door, lol. That's one independent kid!!

at 4 years old, you should have child proof locks and cabinets. Children get into anything - I blame the parents for not taking necessary precautions.
