3 Weeks in!!!

I'm about 3 weeks into my first N2 cycle and have encountered no problems so far. I've used LS, 20lbs of LR and a Domino Damsel to kick start my cycle. My ammonia did a low spike and has dropped, my nitrites are up and I show about 15 nitrates. Is this possible in only 3 weeks??? My tank is a 37 gal. Where do I stand??

was your live rock cured or uncured?

The rock was cured!!

if it was cured then there souldnt have been a cycle.:notsure: maybe it wasnt so cured.once your nitrates come down your cycle is complete. i'd say you have maybe a week left of a cycle or so.

The live sand along with the LR and the Damsel may have kick started the cycle. Once my nitrates drop under 20 then do a water change and I should be ready to trade in that damsel for a nice fish??:happyfish

why would you do a waterchange? maybe something im missing. yes,get a nice fish but just a reminder a dog face wont do well in a 40 gallon.
