30 Gal Load Capacity

In your experience, what is the maximum load capacity of a fish-only 30 gal tank with skimmer, wet/dry, & limited lr (The tank is from Tenecor with the simplicity plus filter system + skimmer). I have heard conflicting figures, but mainly hear about 1 inch per 4 gallons. That would mean 7.5 inches of fish max for this size tank.

that is pretty close, the general rule is 1 inch per 5 gallons, and i can however be pushed a bit, depending on you sio filter and all, soemtimes as far as 1 inch per 2 gallons, but i would not start off with this intention, bu t2 or 3 smaller (3inch ) fish should be fine in a 30 gallon, just make sure to figure the adult size of the fish, not he bouhgt size and if it is a heavy swimmer, they need more room to roam

Well, you will laugh but here is my initial plan:
1 Bicolor Dwarf Angel
1 Court Jester Goby OR 1 Bicolor Blenny OR 1 Lawnmower Blenny
1 Tiny Porc Puffer baby (1.5 inch)that is currently in a quarantine tank and I don't think I canput him in my big tank because I have a large Porc. Puffer.
Can I keep the porc until he grows a bit and I have another large tank to put him into?

i think the puffer would be ok for a while in the 30, but if anything, i would look at the lawnmoer blenny for a tank mate, these little guys are fearless, he is the only one i would consider with the puffer(but i would still watch out for nipping), and as for angels, use caution, an mybe you wnat ot consider and african flame back(still blue and yellow), but smaller adn needs less room, the bicolor can get 6 inches and should have at least a 40 gallon tank, until your puffer is big enough to move, your tank should be about ready for a dwarf angel(IMO)

That is a lot of help, thanks. I will definitely look into the flame back angel - I have noticed it before. How long do you think I will be able to keep the porc in there? How long do they take to grow from 1.5 to 3-4 inches? I know they eat like crazy. I don't know what to do with my porc when he grows out of it. I was going to just replace my 60 gal. with a 240 in a few months, but now it seems like I should keep the 60 running because the 240 will have my large porcupine puffer in there.

a 1.5 in. porq in a 30 gal by itself will be fine for at least 1 yr..I think you can also put the puff w/ the other porq its not like putting a dog w/ a porq
