I'm looking to buy a hang-on skimmer for my new 30 gallon. I don't have the funds right now to invest in something too expensive....but in the below $200 range works. Currently I have a Hagen AquaClear Hang-on Filter and about 30-35lbs live rock. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i personally use the seaclone protein skimmer it is about 75 dollars and it works awsome. I used the 100 gal model on my 29 gal when i first started my reef 2 1/2 yrs ago. I still use the same skimmer to this day even though i have upgraded my system to a now 125 gal reef. I find it nice on some items to also go a little bit cause you know one day you will upgrade tank. It is a hang on back model and work's really well, also on the small tanks it keeps the water flow up pretty good.

Thanks kjord. Any thoughts on the Aqua-C Remora? I've heard some bad things about the SeaClones...has anyone had any bad experiences?

several of my friends all use seaclone, the only bad thing with it is in the begingin for about the first week it spits out very fine bubbles which are fine. they go away once the systems breaks in. the reason behinds the bubbles i am told is some times the additivies in the water.
