Ive got this 30 gallon that im setting up and i was wondering if i could make it an aggressive fish tank. Could i stock it with a snowflake eel or a wolf eel sure they get really big but eels dont move to much so would a 30 gallon be acceptable for a very small eel or could i stock the tank with one valentini puffer? Are there any nice Aggressive fish i could put in this tank???

Why don't you get a dwarf eel they don't get too big.

snowflakes get quite large, to big for a 30 gallon. you could get away with a small snowflake, but only while its small. you would have to get rid of him eventually, or upgrade you tank.
if you want an aggressive nano, just get a couple of damsels and feed 'em every 3-4 days. im sure they will eat like piranhas then! lol

You are very limited in a 30. You could get a juvenile SFE and a toby puffer. You will have to upgrade though as the eel grows. SFE's are not out much. Be aware of that. They still pose a threat to smaller fish and add to the bio-load. Have you set the tank up yet? If not then add PVC for tunnels under the sand.

Not much you can do with such a small tank. Aggressive fish are naturally bigger and faster than other fish. Get a dwarf lion, or perhaps 2-3 damsels.

What about a trigger? I heard most minimum tank sizes for triggers is 55 gallons but what about getting a baby one and then selling it when it gets too big or getting a bigger tank if you find that you like the hobby?
I don't know if a trigger is good for this size tank so what does everyone else think about it?

Why would you want to have one just to sell it later? IMHO, I would sell the small tank now and get a larger one so that you won't have to give it up later. Then you will be able to get the fish you want and keep it. Just because the tank is bigger doesn't mean it has to have expensive lighting. I promise you that you will want a bigger tank in a little while anyway. Just do it the right way from the beginning.

Small tanks are really not meant to be "aggressive" tanks. There is really nothing you can stock in them other than dwarf lions or dwarf puffers.
Triggers are definitely out of the question because they need so much swimming space.

Alright if i really cant do that much for an aggressive tank what about a valentini puffer and some small non aggressive fish? would the puffer bother small fish like that? and would it be possible to add an arrow crab or a cbs?

Puffers don't normally bother other fish. An Arrow Crab or CBS could be Puffer food but its up in the air, especially with a Toby Puffer.

you could do a couple of small anglers, or a frog fish. Just don't mix them with the dwarf puffer. You are severely limited with a 30 gal, even a 55 is too small for most aggressive fish. Unfortunately if your want an aggressive tank the first thing you need is a large tank. If you stick to dwarf species you can do a dwarf lion, dwarf angel, dwarf puffer, maroon clown etc, but this set up would require a minimum of 75 gallons.

This was a reef tank that I started my sophmore year in college (go to school in ohio but live in florida)... Over the summer my EX literally took the reef tank and drained it, put the tank in the back yard... destroyed the AWESOME LR I had... ruined all the equipment and let the lights get so messed up i have to buy new ones....
thats the only reasons I have this size

I have a dwarf lion back home and dont really like it... it hides to much and doesnt swim alot like normal lions.
Might consider a FO tank.. but i know if i do that then I will want coral and I dont feel like buy MH lights (was considering aquatraders since its so cheap)

My Zebra dwarf is out all of the time. He is rarely behind a rock let alone hiding within them. One would probably need a larger tank when it is an adult, but they do not grow fast.

I know somebody else mentioned it but I think having an angler would be pretty cool. They don't move to much, but they certainly put on a show
