30 gallon classroom tank!

hello all! i have been allowed to set up a saltwater aquarium at my high school for the biology and science department and yes i am only a sophmore. last year the tank had a snow flake eel and a chromis. this year it will be much more fun with this new stock list. well first of all the chromis got eaten by the eel and i took the eel back to the store. i hated him. lol so now all the tank have in it is about 30 pounds of sand and an equal amount of rock. for live stock it as a 10 inch engeneer goby. he is awsome i love him. but things i am planning on adding before school is back in is.......
-Pincushion Urchin
-Pencil Urchin
-Sand Sifting Star
-Condi. Anemone
-Yellow Tail Blue Damsel x2
and dont forget about the engeneer goby.!!
all info,and advice is welcome.
thanks Jake
P.S. pictures of tank and setup are coming soon!!

urchins, good if you have good coralline algae. I wouldnt do the sand star, the engineer goby is doing that job and eating everything the star needs to survive. The anemone, as long as you have 4+ watts per gallon and why not a clown to show they symbiotic relationship? and damsels, well blah, i would do maybe 3 cardinalfish?

Lucky, my school wouldn't let anyone do it and if they did it would be some idiot that thought freshwaterfish live in saltwater. Good luck.

I agree with Small Triggers. Why damsels? If you're going with an anemone, it'll be a lot more interesting to have a pair of clowns. You can go with a bubble tip anemone and that'll make a really nice dispay with the clowns hosting it.

i got the damsales because because they were cheap color lol and the classroom it is in has a problem with evaporation! lol and the school has bad water so i have to haul it all from home and that is a pain lol haha im very lazy. also i am trying to keep costs low but still show an ecosystem! and it doesnt help that i am not the teacher but only a student!

What does evaporation have to do with what kind of fish you get?

I feel your pain. My school could afford a ten thousand dollor golf cart to drive around in but couldn't afford to pay for paper for our assignments and other stuff. Any pictures?
