What kind of lighting are you using on your tank? I am looking to upgrade mine.

Are you able to pretty much house any kind of coral under these lights?

4 36w pc's... 2 actinic, 2 10k. I only keep soft corals, but have been assured I could keep hards if I wanted to. JBJ makes a great PC light kit and they guarantee it for a long time.

i run 2 55watt 50/50 jbj pcs over my 29. i sometims run a 10k NO bulb as well. i have been able to keep softies with no problem

i know me telling you this is probably going to get a few reactions out of people but here it goes. honestly i only have 3 40W fluorescents on my tank at the moment. i have no problems though with any of my corals. and believe it or not i have hard corals that are doing great.

Hi,
I run two 55 watt pc lamps 10K and 03 actinic in a JBJ hood. Had great luck keeping corals and the lights look great.

Chevron, I also ran 40w NO's over my tank with success, but maintaining corals and making them thrive are 2 different things. When I put my current PC's on my tank, all my corals expanded another 33% and rapidly began reproducing. It truly is something you need to witness on your personal tank before before you realize the difference. PC's are not expensive and the bulbs last 12-14 months instead of 6 months. I would suggest PC's to anybody with a small tank. I was quite upset when I first turned them on because they seemed dull. I was expecting the sun itself to blind me when I flipped the switch, but after 3 days, I could measure an extreme difference.

2 55w pc- 1 6700 and 1 actinic
I just put these on and I'm having a bit of a heat problem. Any suggestions on how to keep it cooler? I'm looking at small fans, but would rather not pay $45 for one at the lfs. Maybe some type of DIY?

I've got: 1-96 watt CSL smartlite, 10000K and
1-55 watt actinic 03 on my 29 gallon with all soft corals. It seems to be plenty of light for this size tank. HTH
