?

I was wondering if anyone could help tell me what it is that might be in my tank. They look like centipedes about 1 to 1 1/2 inches long... I've never seen them in there before. We've had the tank for about a year...

+1 on bristle worms. Pretty common in any tank. Just because you've never seen them doesn't mean they weren't there... probably came in on live rock.
Still though....better hit us with a pic if you want to be sure. There are other critters that go bump in the tank that aren't so beneficial. If you had said it looks like a MILLIPEDE...then you may have a problem.

So are they bad and do I need to try and remove some of them?
They're perfectly safe, only get about the size of a quarter, and as mentioned are great little cleaners.

With that many and if you have the correct conditions you may even get to witness a spawn.
