To me the key is the algae
in both the ats/regufium and on the live rocks.
everything else is secondary

I will have an algae filter though so will have plenty of it.... or Are you saying avoiding algae growth?

I had a scrubber going for almost a year. They work awesome! But I swapped over to a skimmer in the end. My water paramiters arent as good as my scrubber, and I dont even have %1 of the pods I used to....but it looks alot more pristine and clear.

Another reason I jumped over the the skimmer...and its actually an important one:My scrubber quit working overnight. I dont know why, but one day it just stopped producing algae. Even with a new bulb change, it suddenly didnt work. I have a couple theories...but I just went over to skimmer and am pretty happy witht hem as well. Ill do another scrubber again someday, but for now skimming caters to the "Lazy".
