I have a suggestion for you. dont know if it would help at all or not but I use fiberglass resin a lot in car audio builds. a trick ive picked up over time is to use the resin to coat the corners so there really isnt any corners. stand it on an edge and then pour the resin in it will fill the V and eliminate corners. It helps with air flow since all the sharp edges are rounded off and I would imagine it would help hold detritus out of the corners and increase water flow. of course you cant use it now but on the big boy frag tank you could.

nice tank though its pretty awesome

Good idea. My next build will be a 4' x 8' so I'm pooling all Ive learned so that the next one will really be awesome. A few things the next tank will include:
All White Epoxy and Egg crate
Large tunze style wave box
Dual 100 Gallon Rubbermaid stock tanks: One for sump and one for Refugium

Had to come take a second look. i love the mangrove jail.
Thanks man. I'm really looking foward to getting some nice frags together so we can trade cause I know you have some sick stock you are hiding.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you, all of those Mangroves are rooted. I had like a 95% success rate with them. Only a few that must have sat on the beach in the sun too long didnt root and I tossed them. They might have, given more time.

the good thing is you can use as much as you want or as little as you want too. Its actually very simple to do too.

Since you know about epoxy what brand do you prefer. I had success with a locally packed brand (Glue Products) that was much cheaper than say West Systems or MAS Epoxy. I have been thinking that next round I will use a large amount of Colloidal Silica in the Epoxy mix because I liked the characteristics it shows when mixed in near a 1:1 ratio. The Cabo-sil is also extremely cheap compared to epoxy. I have also been considering trying some of Aquatic Eco-systems two part paint- i think its called sweet water or something like that.

thanks I appreciate it. Did the Superman make it? Hows your tank. Shoot me a PM. Anyways I went the lazy route and MacGyvered the IO bucket into the bubble tower. It is actaully amazing how well it works with the filter sock. So I only built one baffle to hold back the DSB. I am going to put some gutter gaurd over some egg crate and make a small box around the pump intake. The suction is so strong any inverts currently down there would quickly be made into chop suey.

The Superman seems to be doing fine, tank is fine also...Be careful with the gutter guard...I used it in my fuge for a SMALL amount of time....If you keep the "screen"on it....it gets clogged VERY quickly....and starts to restrict the flow...Just a heads up. I might have some stuff I need to get rid of (thin out)soon....I will keep you posted.

to be honest use what you are comfortable with. every brand is going to be slightly different so if you have figured out a method that works well for you stick to it. nothing worse than getting half way done and not liking the way its turned out.

I don't know if I mentioned previously but my Fasco motor powered Dart pump has been running hot. My cousin came by who is a AC tech and checked some things on the pump.
First of all, the hottest part of the pump is registering 163 degrees on a Fluke 65 IR thermometer.
On a Fluke 87,
The cycles are between 63-71 Hz
116.3 V
1.38 amps
My cousin thinks that the fluctuation in Hz is whats causing the heat. I don't think that this motor will last at 163 degrees.

I haven't checked in in a while, that looks great, I think I'm going to build a frag like that, not as big the wife would kill me.
