4 x 48'' VHO on 55 gallon

Hello -
I used to have a light fixture that was 2x175w halide and 2 x 40w fluorescent lights. The ballast recently went out and I am looking for a change in lighting.
I am currently using two 48'' VHO lights, and am contemplating just getting two more of these VHO's, is this enough lighting?
Would I be able to keep SPS or an anemone with this if I put them really close to the lights?

If they are fluorescents...I'd have to say no...anemones need much stronger lighting....I'm not sure about all SPS, but I think most need better than fl also

you could easily just about keep every thing in a 55 gallon tank under a Ice Cap retrofit kit with 4 54 T5 bulbs on a Ice Cap 660 with 4 ATI bulbs.

ya if u just buy end caps and reflectors(if u have a icecap ballast) u can just go t5. and 4 will be PLENTY and since the ice cap will overdrive they to about 80-85w each ur not really gunna have to worry about bulb selection.

This is exactly what I did... Didn't have sps for very long under these lights, but they were bright as s**t!
