40 gallon saltwater

I just set up my 40 gallon tank an I really want to get to a snowflake eel. My local fish store is selling a few and they are about 4 inches long and i was wondering if I could keep one in the tank for his whole life or if he would out grown the tank and if so how long before he out grows it. All I have in the tank now is a small 6 line wrasse. Any and all comment are helpful and appreciated.

he will grow to the tank but at 4 in you have a little time, Give them plenty of places to hide , just make sure you have a tight lid on that tank eels are like snakes they like to wander a bit good luck
