I'm going to be buying some Metal Halide lighting for my 6' 220g. Will two 400w 20,000K German - Radium Bulbs with the Spider Light Reflector's work or do I need three?
Also be buying 400 watt - HQI Dual Ballast, will this lighting work for (SPS) Hard corals. I also have 220w in pc's will I need them or not? The tank is in the wall in my living room you can just see the glass so can I just hang the Metal Halide lighting over it or do I need a canopy or something like that? It has a glass canopy over the water and I go in a back room to work on it.
(( The Spider Light Reflector nature of the design will allow the typical hobbiest with a six foot tank to burn two lamps and get uniform light distribution over the entire length of the aquarium.))
Is this true?

If it were me, I'd get 2 400 watt halides. The price difference isnt that much and you would never be limited on species you can keep. Later on if you decide it isnt enough light then you can always get one more ballast and such. Just temporarily mount the first two (hanging or canopy, your choice) so you have the possibility of expanding later if need be.
