Hello,
We are starting a 40 gallon shaallow frag tank, we ordered 400w MH 6500k lights. While we wait for the lights(coming in next week), we set-up the tank abit. We've added a 20 gallon Aquaclear hang-on filter, a 528gal/H power head, ~5lbs of live rock, 11lbs of live sand, some cheatos, 7 kinds of soft corals, hermit crabs, dusters and that's it for now. Tell us what you think about it, when I get the lights, I will buy 10 more corals and probably 2 False Percs!

How is that glass table going to support over 500 pounds?
LOL! my table supported a 25 gal freshwater tank for 2 years, so I just filled it up to the half. I'm putting it on the ground now!

1+ yea man IMO i agree. 250's are good and 6500k is kinda yellowish. why dont you go with 12k? or 10k?

Coral that have zooxanthellae do better with 6500k than 10k. The lights are gonna be 3feet from the tank. It just left the states, arriving tomorrow!

That's what I want to find out. It seems like a lot of light at a very algae friendly temperature of light. Want to know how it is coming
