PLEASE tell me if im over stocking my tank: 40gal.
(2) percula clowns
(1) goby shrimp combo.
(1) dwarf angelfish (not sure what to get yet)
(1) lawnmower blenny
(3) blue green chromis (still not sure about this)
i dont know if i should go with the 3 chromis...
i have a 3-5 gal hang on sump with a 100gal seaclone protein skimmer.
and CUC is gonna be:
(1) pistol shrimp
(2) fire shrimp
(2) cleaner shrimp (maybe, not sure yet)
(1) medium sized serpent starfish.
some hermits and some snails....
so could i do 8 fish or not? and what are your opinions on blue green chromis.

Scrap the Chromis.
Wouldn't put the lawnmower blenny in there. Little small.
Put in some sort of wrasse. Six-line or a Blue Flasher Wrasse would look real nice.
For the angel, I recommend coral beauty or Bicolor Angel. Remember, Angels like to pic at your corals.
I put Fire shrimp and Cleaner shrimp in the same category. 2 Fire shrimp should do the job in a 40g.
Think harder about your hermits and snails. Some snails sift the sand, others only eat off rocks and glass. Also, some snails are smaller, allowing them to clean hard to-get-to places. Try to mix them up.
Hope the tank goes well!

I had a very similar stocklist in my 40G, minus the chromis. The lawnmower blenny ate algae sheets or I wouldn't have added him. Keep in mind that most lawnmower blennies starve to death in tanks smaller than 75G.
This was my stock list in the 40 Breeder:
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Coral Beauty Angelfish
1 Green Spotted Mandarin (baby, and it ate frozen food)
1 Lawnmower Blenny
1 Sleeper Banded Bullet Goby (aka Dragon Goby)
1 Fairy Wrasse or Flasher Wrasse, I don't remember which type. We had a SixLine for a while and that was a nightmare.
1 Blue Hippo Tang (baby, and we were cycling a 155G at the same time for him to go in)
You can do a heavy stock list since you're running a strong skimmer, I didn't have any issues with water quality due to using a strong skimmer and weekly water changes. Definitely doable. I highly recommend getting 2 cleaner shrimp OR 2 Fire shrimp, not both. I'd go with the Skunk Cleaners just because to me, they do a much better job cleaning fish and the tank. I also recommend some Nassarius Snails. They stir the sand a little AND they eat left over fish food to help you keep the tank cleaner.
x the chromis. Too big for too small of a tank.

yeah i change my mind about the chromis.
i really want skunk cleaners but i already have one fire so i think i have to stick with the fire shrimp for now =/
so what else could i add now that im not gonna add the chromis.
i really want a LMB, it will survive becuase my new tank is covered in algae. i think its from my new lights... i have 156 watt T5s now and WOW what a change. i was using PCs b4.
also i think im gonna go with a tiny coral beauty, but they are always huge.
btw are any of my fish jumpers? cause my tank is completely open.

Tiny coral beauties are hard to find. I do suggest making the coral beauty one of your last additions if you decide to go with one. I didn't and she was aggressive towards new comers and stressed some of my fish out so much that she killed them. She's sinced calmed down, but it wasn't fun.
Even if your tank is covered in algae, read up on what types of algae LMB will eat, they don't eat all types and some are more picky than others.
Any fish can be a jumper, but your list is fairly safe. A wrasse is always a risk.
As for something in place of the chromis, do you want a schooling fish or just more fish?

ive had a LWB b4 and it used to eat the same algae that started to grow in my new tank. the rocks are COVERED in algae, its really amazing it took like 2 weeks with the new lights. lol
like any kind of fish not really schooling. i thought school fish was pretty cool but i need a bigger tank =/
i just want some ideas. i might go with a six line but i want to try something new.

You could try a couple firefish, some will school. But they are known to be jumpers.
Try to stick with small fish, even clown gobies have been known to school.
How about a pair of cardinals?
If it were up to me, I'd probably do small colorful fish (colorful wrasse(s), pseudochromis, dottyback, royal gramma?) I have always kept heavily stocked tanks, especially with lots of little fish because I love the life fish bring to the tank. Just keep in mind that some little fish can be very aggressive, so stocklist compatibility can be a bit of a challenge.

I'll give you a comparison and let you draw your own conclusion. I have a 14G BioCube. In it I have two Percula Clowns, a Firetail Blenny, Puple Firefish, Pistol Shrimp and Randall's Goby, 8 Hermits, 4 snails, and two cleaner shrimp. I have a <1G bioball chamber, nano Oceanic Protein Skimmer, and a 9v UV Sterilizer made for a 125G tank. My levels are Phosphate- 0, Ammonia- 0, Nitrite- 0, and Nitrate- 15ppm. If a 14G can handle that, I think a 40G can handle what you're talking about.

ive never liked fire fish because they remind me of betta fish LOL and ive never really considered buying any because they are famous for jumping. my tanks are always open. any fish that reminds me of bettas, i dont really like.
i LOVE clown gobies <3 but will i be able to keep them with another goby? cause i really want a yasha goby shrimp pair.
and cardinals are probly thee most boring fish in the whole hobby, they just hover in one place and stare at u with big black eyes. which is kinda cute but i like more active fish.
i think im gonna try a pseudochromis. i had one for a few days when ick killed all my fish once

You definitely can do a clown goby or two with a Yasha. I have a yasha/shrimp combo. I LOVE that fish. It's very, very shy though, so don't be surprised if you hardly see it. Mine will eat from my hand, but she hides if anyone else comes near the tank.
I agree about cardinals. I have three PJ's and there so boring. They do school and swim around a lot at night though so they give my tank some life after the lights go off and the rest of the fish go to sleep which is nice. I'm not a fan of firefish either, don't blame you, although to me, the Royal Gramma looks more like a betta than the firefish does.
If you decide on pseudochromis, be sure about compatabililty. Some are very, very aggressive. The Fridmani is not, but the bicolor I believe is.
You may also be able to get away with a Tail Spot Blenny. They stay small but are very, very active fish. The LMB "should" leave him alone because he's much smaller and different. I have one with another larger blenny and they're fine with each other.

COOOOL!! u have a yasha/shrimp pair!!! i was about to buy a pair today only because i miss understood the lady who tried to sell it to me, i was like "how much is it for the pair?" shes like "20 bucks for pair" i was like "JACKPOT!!!" then when i go to the counter to pay she like "70 dollars please" im like "
