I am being relocated to anothe city with my job, and moved my tank this weekend. The move is about 80 mi. Moving a tank is difficult work! So far, my fish are doing well. I think they like the change in scenery (there was no way for me to re-stack my rocks the exact same way after the move.) Unfortunately, I don't get to keep watch on them for another couple of days, but my future roommate says they're settling in well.
I'm most worried about my questionable anemone. He's been having issues recently, and I don't know what to do about him. I think he's not getting enough food. The clown sleeps in him, and I see him occasionally 'groom' him, but I don't think the clown feeds the anemone. I don't think the anemone knows how to grab food with its tentacles. Right now I'm having my future roommie (who is becoming an exceptional aquarist, by the way...) place a couple small brine shrimp pieces near the anemone's mouth, making sure they go in and don't come out for a couple minutes. Every other day. I hope that by getting some food in him, it will improve his health. I know it's not a lighting issue. I have MH that is on for about 6 hours a day. I placed the guy in the light, but he always ends up hiding in the rock crevices. I don't get it. Any suggestions are welcome. Water quality is good. Flow is good. I can tell the anemone likes the salinity on the high-side, so I keep my water pretty salty.
What else ... you should check out the video I posted above. I'll post more pictures soon. I may even do a little narrative of the move once I settle down. I know I would have liked to have had more advice before I took on the task, but I made it well and so did all my creatures. I'd be happy to pass on anything I learned.
