I have a 45 High Tank. Right now im using the PC lights. I would like to switch to the MH lights. and was hoping someone could recommend how many watts and what kind that would work on my tank for corals.

What are the dimensions for your tank? Specifically how deep is it?
I would suggest 250 watts... I had that on my old 44 and everything worked/looked great

Thanks for the reply! Its 36" wide and 24" deep. My corals just dont seem to really grow much with the compacts that i have been using.

I thing metal halides only cover a 2' x 2' area - you may have some lighting gaps at the edges of your tank. You may want to look into T-5's or possibly 2x150w MH's.
