Very cool project. I would be interested in doing a foam back wall on my next tank. Looks like you know what you are doing.
honestly this is my 1st attempt at the foam. i did about 2 months of research of it. just kept reading different threads to get info on what worked and didnt. and any tips that they threw out. when i 1st started i wasnt sure how it was going to come out, but as i started working on it, everything i read just fell into place.i like the end result. i got a decent camera, not sure how to use it yet. so pics are decent at best. but in person you can see the depth and the caves and ledges much more clearly...with the lite that i bought, this tank should be fun to work with.

next two are them cut up, i removed the excess foam that was too bulky, in the way, or just needed to be trimmed. i really wasnt expecting to take that much off...

there are so many caves. and in-an-outs with it. looks good. you can even see the pvc, i also used the resin and crushed coral on the inside of the pipe. so it would look all natural. looks sick in person. haha

next couple of shot are the panels completed and installed in the tank. i also painted the entire tank except the front panel black. this will keep all lite in and make it look brighter

next are a couple of top downs

It is going to look good once you have it running for awhile. Is this the tank that you got your idea from?

Hey grubsnaek, what did you use to apply the sand/epoxy? Just a paintbrush?
I just finished my foam today and it looks really good so far I'll get some pictures up soon.
Oh and I grabbed the wrong epoxy. Loctite marine epoxy. I saw the front and said "Sweet that'll work." I get home and the back doesn't recommend use with aquariums.

Where did you get your Zpoxy?

so today i upgraded my koralia #3's with koralia#4's in my 125DT. what does this have to do with this build. well all the little creatures that were on the power head went into the 5.5 pico. some really small snails, and some micro stars. and also seeded the tank with some coraline algae...here is a pic alittle after adding sand and water....
