thank you everyone....this project is only going up for a couple months. i just want to see how the foam was going to work. a buddy of mine wants to do his 29. and he wanted to see how this came out 1st. its a different tank. cause all in all, it is what it is. meaning when you place the corals, thats it. no rearranging them or moving them. you place them and let it go from there....
i say this is only going up for a couple of months. but you know how it goes. but i currently have a 125DT mixed reef, a 20L frag/nano tank, a 20L QT and now this 5.5g pico....so something got to give..hahaha

good things good things. i just started to get some diatoms on the sand. only took couple days. tank maybe done cycling by early next week...maybe on monday if test readings are good, i may add a hermit and a snail to start roaming. if they do well then coral start splashing in...
funny cause the diatoms looks just like the sand bed does in post #40....but in that pic its just after the sand storm settled....

Lookin good. Good job on the sand (on the wall that is). That was my hardest part, the grains were too big to work with for me.
I'll be placing my foam wall in my tank today. I can't wait to get that puppy going.

very neat, may i ask after you have all that stuff in place about how many gallons i that tank then?
What do you plan on keeping in there??

not sure on the gallons, but im guessing some where around 4 maybe 4.5 gallons....
and for corals i can keep softies,LPS,SPS... maybe a pistol shrimp, goby combo...
but not really looking to have this set up that long. i currently only have 3 softies in there now. i fragged them from my DT and threw them in to see how well they would respond. this project was really to see how the foam background would come out. i like it. but prolly either going to sell the set up or trade it for a bunch of frags....

The end result was suprising. That was really cool. Would love more pictures with the corals and fish in it.
Glad I stopped by
